EDARVILLE, Ohio- The 2025 G-MAC championship stage is set as the Cedarville Yellow Jackets and Ohio Dominican Panthers are set to face one another for the 2025 G-MAC crown.
The semifinals started with a Cedarville sweep over No. 5 Hillsdale. The first-team all-conference trio of Madelyn Hensel, Janae Heegard, and Haley Koch combined for 25 kills. Alivia Rutt was dominant on defense, finishing the match with a high of 19 digs. The Yellow Jackets were dominant in the win, finishing with a .225 team hitting percentage. This is Cedarville’s first championship appearance since 2016 as they look to defend their home court against the Panthers.
Ohio Dominican, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, upset the No. 2 seed Findlay in a four set thriller. Despite losing the first set 26-24, the Panthers bounced back to win three straight sets to seal the win over the defending champs. Logan Rubel, Ashley Aselage, and Jenna Peters each tabbed double-digit kills at 16, 15, and 14 apiece. Ava Horn recorded a match-high six blocks in the win while Christen Tarter chipped in 14 digs. This is ODU’s third straight appearance in the championship game.
The two will meet for the third time this season, after finishing the season 1-1 against one another. The winner of the championship game will earn the automatic qualifying bid to the Midwest Regional.
