INDIANAPOLIS- The University of Findlay and Ashland Eagles have been crowned co-champions for the 2025 football season.
Findlay, the No. 8 ranked team in the nation, recorded an 8-1 conference record and 10-1 overall. The Oilers currently have the best defense in the league, with 16 defensive touchdowns for 134 points. The Oilers are ranked No. 2 in the latest regional rankings and will earn the league’s automatic qualifying bid to Super Region Three.
The Ashland Eagles earned a share of the title with Findlay after also recording a 8-1 conference record. The Eagles secured their eighth conference victory Saturday afternoon against Lake Erie. Ashland came out strong with a D.J. Harvey touchdown in the opening drive of the game. Quarterback Cameron Blair extended the lead to 14-0 on a QB draw in the first. Ashland would go on to score 20 more points to make the final score of 34-14. This is Ashland’s third football title in four years. The Eagles are ranked No. 20 in the AFCA poll and are slotted No. 4 in Super Region 3.
