ASHLAND, Ohio- The G-MAC Women’s Soccer Championship semifinals took place Thursday evening as No. 2 Findlay faced No. 3 Cedarville and No. 1 Ashland took on No. 4 Northwood.
The first match of the day was a defensive battle between the Oilers and Yellow Jackets as both teams allowed five shots on goal apiece. Findlay’s Payton Miller connected with Sydney Noble to score the lone goal of the match. Miller’s goal came at the 78-minute mark to solidify the win and send Findlay to the championship.
Ashland and Northwood went wire-to-wire in a double overtime match that ended in 0-0. It was the battle of the Co-Goalkeepers of the Year as Jaya Daniel and Lindsay Jacob gave up zero goals through 110:00 minutes in net. The Eagles would eventually come out on top in PKs, 13-12.
Ashland and Findlay will meet for just the second time on Saturday, after ending in a 0-0 draw during the regular season.
The championship game will take place at 5 P.M. ET at Ashland’s Ferguson Field. The winner of the 2025 Great Midwest Women’s Soccer Championship will earn an automatic qualifying bid to the Midwest Regional.
