Great Midwest Announces Women's All-Conference Teams

 INDIANAPOLIS- The final four teams left in the women’s soccer bracket are preparing to continue their journey through the postseason as the Great Midwest released the 2025 all-conference teams and individual awards.
 
The league’s head coaches voted student-athletes to either first or second team in addition to individual awards.
 
The Eagles, who landed as the No. 1 seed and tournament hosts, are celebrated with a conference-high seven student-athletes on either first or second team all-conference. Dani Hicks and Jaya Daniel headline the postseason awards as the Offensive Player and Co-Goalkeeper of the Year. Hicks, a returning all-American for Ashland, leads the league in virtually every offensive statistic including; shots on goal (43), goals (12), assists (9), and points (33). Hick’s 1.83 points per game ranks in the top 20 in Division II. This is the second consecutive year the senior has been awarded Offensive Player of the Year. On the defensive end, Jaya Daniel has led the Eagles to a 12-2-4 overall record with a goals-against average of .592 through 17 appearances in goal. Her efforts earned her Co-Goalkeeper of the Year honors with Northwood’s Lindsay Jacob. The Eagles are ranked No.5 in the Midwest Region and No. 13 in the United Soccer Coaches’ Poll. Head Coach Cayleb Paulino and his squad will look to win their fourth conference title since joining the league in 2021.
 
The University of Findlay earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye. Head Coach Sierra Tom had five student-athletes named to the all-conference team in addition to the Freshman of the Year in Addison Williams. Williams made a huge impact during her first year, leading the Oilers to a 10-2-2 conference mark. She ranks second in the league in goals with eight this season, despite only appearing in 15 games due to injury. The freshman averages 1.13 points per game, ranking third behind all-conference teammate Sydney Noble who averages 1.28 points per game. This season, Williams recorded two hat tricks, the most out of anyone in the league. Findlay is set to take on No. 3 Cedarville Thursday, November 13 at 3:30 P.M. ET.
 
Cedarville’s Sophie Browndyke headlines the awards for the Yellow Jackets after being voted the Defensive Player of the Year. Browndyke leads a Cedarville defense that has given up just six goals in conference play. She led the Yellow Jackets to 10 total shutouts this season and allowing just 50 shots on goal, the lowest in the conference. The senior captain was also an offensive threat, recording two goals and two assists this season. In addition to Browndyke, Savannah McConnell, Maddie McConnell, and Alli Graves were all voted to the all-conference team.
 
Goalkeeper Lindsay Jacob had a stellar year for the Timberwolves, leading them to their third straight semifinal appearance. Jacob has started in all 17 games for Northwood, finishing the regular season with a .71 goals-against average and a .864 save percentage. She has recorded eight shutouts, which is tied for 15th at the national level. Ava Kettler and Carly Boyd join Jacobs as first-team all-conference selections.
 
In just his second year at the helm of Lake Erie Women’s Soccer, Carl Contrascier led the Storm to a 10-5-4 overall record and a berth in the postseason tournament as the No. 5 seed. The postseason appearance was the first since 2017 and the program’s first winning season in the Division II era.Off the field, Contrascier and the Storm were recognized by the league’s coaches as the 2025 Great Midwest Sportsmanship Award winners. New this year, the Sportsmanship Award recognizes teams who have displayed positive sportsmanship throughout the season.
 
Thomas More’s Olivia Mohs was recognized as the Elite 26 Award winner for academic excellence. Mohs is a senior majoring in Business Administration and holds the highest GPA with the most amount of credits among her peers.
 
Great Midwest women’s soccer semifinals will begin at 3:30 P.M. ET as Cedarville takes on Findlay. The Ashland vs. Northwood match will follow at 6:30 P.M.
