INDIANAPOLIS- The final four teams left in the men’s soccer bracket are preparing to continue their journey through the postseason as the G-MAC men’s soccer all-conference teams and individual award winners were announced Thursday afternoon.
The league’s head coaches voted student-athletes to either first or second team in addition to six individual awards.
The Cedarville Yellow Jackets earned four of the six individual awards after recording an overall record of 11-0-7 and ranking as high as eight in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) poll. Brett Faro was voted by his peers as the 2025 Coach of the Year after earning the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament and landing seven student-athletes on the all-conference teams including the offensive, defensive, and goalkeeper of the year. Michael Catanzarite has been a constant for the Yellow Jackets all season, leading the league in goals per game at .625 and game-winning goals with six this season. On the defensive end, Cedarville was led by Amari Everage and Eben Dewhurst, who were voted Defensive and Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively. Everage has started in all 18 matches this season, scoring two goals and connecting on six assists. He led a backline that has given up 10 goals this season and recorded 11 shutouts. Dewhurst has registered a goals-against average of .505 with an overall record of 9-0-5 in goal. In the most recent Midwest Regional rankings, the Yellow Jackets were slotted at No. 5.
Tiffin earned the No. 1 seed and regular season title for the fourth straight year. Five Dragons made either first or second-team all-conference after posting a conference record of 10-1-3. Defender Kristopher McDonald and midfielder Zach Garcia were voted to the first-team all-conference list after leading Tiffin throughout the regular season. McDonald has started in all 17 games for Tiffin, leading a defense that has given up just seven goals all season. McDonald and the Dragons have the lowest goals-against average at .41/game and recorded a conference-high 12 shutouts this season. Garcia led the team in assists with eight, while starting all 17 games. Tifin was slotted No.8 in the most recent regional rankings and will take on No. 4 Findlay in the semifinals.
Kentucky Wesleyan earned the No. 3 seed and advanced to the semifinals after defeating Lake Erie by a score of 2-0. A duo of Panthers in Haakon Torvbraaten and Jhaeem Bryan were selected as first-team all-conference honorees. Torvbraaten earned Athlete of the Week honors on two occasions during the regular season, while averaging a league-high .421 assists per game. Most recently, Torvbraaten set the KWC program record with 76 career matches played. Jhaeem Bryan, a defender for the Panthers, has started in all 19 games this season, registering a trio of goals and assists to close out the regular season with nine points. Head Coach John Fusco and the Panthers advanced to the semifinals for the second straight year.
Earning the No. 4 seed are the reigning champions in Findlay. Tom Middleham was the lone first-team selection for the Oilers, leading the team in goals with seven this season. He added three assists to finish the regular season with 17 points. Findlay will look to upset No. 1 Tiffin in Thursday’s matchup.
Ashland’s Tom Woodward was voted as the top Freshman in the conference after leading the league in shots (66) and shots on goal (26). Of his 26 shots on goal, Woodward connected on eight to average the third-best goals per game average of .625.
The Elite 26 Award Winner for the men is Kentucky Wesleyan’s Kai Marchiony, a senior majoring in mathematics.
