Football
Defense: Cole Simpson / Northwood University/ R-Sr. / Defensive Back / Jackson, Mich.
Northwood Timberwolves Cole Simpson led the defense against the Tiffin Dragons. He finished with nine tackles and an interception return for a touchdown. He went on to force a fumble, add a pass breakup, and a quarterback hurry. His 32-yard interception return for a touchdown at the start of the second quarter gave the Timberwolves a 21-7 lead. He currently leads the conference in interceptions while ranking fifth in tackles, third in forced fumbles, and 11th in pass breakups.
Offense: Colin McKernan / Hillsdale College/ So. / Quarterback / Brighton, Mich.
Hillsdale Chargers Colin McKeran completed 82% of his passes (23/28) for 242-yards and three touchdowns to lead the Chargers to a 23-20 road upset over the Walsh Cavaliers. He found touchdown passes of 48, 24, and two yards to three different receivers and has completed 70% or more of his passes with five touchdowns and one interception in the Chargers last three games – all of which were wins.
Special Teams: Owen Clevenger / University of Findlay / Jr. / Punter / Findlay, Ohio
Findlay Oilers’ Owen Clevenger aided in the Oilers beating the No.15-ranked Ashland Eagles in a road victory. Findlay's defense played well; however, it was a battle of field position and Clevenger boomed three punts for 149 yards (49.7 avg), including a conference and school record 86-yard punt right before halftime that prevented a good scoring opportunity for the Eagles. The punt was the longest punt in all of college football this week.
Men’s Soccer
Offensive:
Haakon Torvbraaten / Kentucky Wesleyan College/ Sr. / Midfield/ Asker, Norway
Haakon Torvbraaten aided in the Panthers finding a quarterfinals victory over the Lake Erie Storm. Torvbraaten registered assists on both of the Panthers’ goals. The captain helped the Panthers cap off an undefeated season at home, the first in school history and sent the Panthers to the conference semifinals for the second consecutive season.
Defensive:
Keegan Grant / University of Findlay/ Sr. / Goalkeeper/ Perth, Austria
The Findlay Oilers went 0-0-2 this week, tying with No.23-ranked Tiffin Dragons on Tuesday and then coming back with a tie but advancing on penalty kicks in the first round of the conference tournaments on Saturday. Oilers Keegan Grant faced 14 shots during the week and allowed just a single goal for a save percentage of .933.
Women’s Soccer
Offensive:
Ella Webb / Cedarville University/ So. / Forward/ Hershey, PA
Cedarville Yellow Jackets Ella Webb scored two goals in a 4-0 result over the Ohio Dominican Panthers in the regular season finale. She was credited with the game winning goal in a 2-0 win against the Thomas More Saints in the conference quarterfinals.
Defensive:
Sophie Browndyke/ Cedarville University/ Sr. / Defender / West Harrison, Ind.
Cedarville Yellow Jackets’ Sophie Browndyke sparked the defense to their tenth and 11th shutout of the season by limiting the Ohio Dominican Panthers and Thomas More Saints to a total of three shots on goal. She also scored the second goal off a free kick during a 2-0 win over the Saints in the conference quarterfinals.
Men’s Swimming & Diving
Evan Kemp / Ashland University/ Jr. / North East, PA
The Ashland Eagles won two home matchups against Baldwin Wallac and Washington & Jefferson during their Friday and Saturday matchups – respectively. Junior Evan Kemp won the following men’s events on Friday: 200 free, 100 butterfly, men;s 400 medley relay and 400 free relay. On Saturday, he won the following events: 200 fly, 300 IM and 200 medley relay.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Sasha Babenko / Hillsdale College/ Fr. / Fort Lee, NJ
Sasha Babenko won a total of six events as the Chargers captured four victories across two double-duals on Friday and Saturday. She posted ten times in Chargers program history on Friday in winning the 100 backstroke, 50 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay team. On Saturday, she won the 200 IM and 200 medley relay.
Volleyball
North Division
Adi Sysum / Hillsdale College/ Sr./ Outside Hitter / Eaton Rapids, Mich.
Hillsdale Chargers’ Adi Sysum hit .481 with a team high of 16 kills and added seven total blocks as the Chargers handed the East Division champion Walsh Cavaliers their second conference loss of the 2025 season in a five-set thriller on Friday. She averaged 2.88 kills per set and a block per set as the Chargers went 2-0 on the weekend to improve to 10-3 in conference play.
South Division
Allie Pilat / Cedarville University / So. / Outside Hitter / Novi, Mich.
Allie Pilat aided the Yellow Jackets in extending their win streak to seven straight wins with a pair of conference road wins She contributed 31 kills with a .373 attack percentage and four blocks.
East Division
Kameron Stover / Walsh University / Fr. / Outside Hitter /Sao Paulo, Brazil
Kameron Stover led the Cavaliers to a 1-1 week. Stover found 47 kills, hit a .244 hitting percentage, 31 digs, 52 points, six blocks, two aces and two double doubles.
Wrestling
Wyatt Bailey / Ashland University/ Sr. / Eau Claire, Mich.
Ashland Eagles Wyatt Bailey aided the Eagles in a victory on the road. No.9-ranked Bailey earned a 11-6 victory over No.5-ranked Cale Gray to complete the comeback on Saturday.
