Women’s Soccer Moves Up To 14th In USC D-II Poll

On Tuesday (Oct. 7) afternoon, the Ashland University women's soccer team moved up one spot to No. 14 in the latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) Top 25 NCAA Division II women's poll.
 
The ranking is the Eagles' second-highest of the season, two rungs away from the No. 12 slot they were in on Sept. 9.
 
Ashland enters the new week at 8-2 overall and 6-0 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference – in first place by five points over second-place Cedarville and Findlay. The Eagles will take a seven-game winning streak into a key league contest on Saturday (Oct. 11) at 7 p.m. at Cedarville (6-1-2, 4-0-1).
 
Through Monday (Oct. 6), Ashland is tied with Dallas Baptist for the most goals in NCAA Division II with 34, and is alone in first in the nation in corner kicks per game with 11.1. The Eagles also are tied for fourth in the country in goals per game (3.4) and seventh in total assists (26).
 
Individually, senior forward Dani Hicks is tied with three other players for the most points in D-II (25), is tied for the second-most assists (seven), and is tied for the third-most goals (nine).
