Dragons crack Top 10 in Open Mat, NWCA polls

Tiffin University's men's wrestling team has cracked the Top 10 in Division II, jumping nine spots to place 9th in the latest Open Mat and NWCA Division II polls.

The Dragons were also tabbed 16th in dual meet rankings. In the overall ranking, Tiffin was joined by only Lake Erie (16th) and Ashland (24th) in the Top 25 from G-MAC institutions. Overall St. Cloud State was tops in the poll followed by Glenville State and Wisconsin-Parkside.

Four Dragons were individually ranked in their respective weight classes. Leading the way was Max Shore at 133 pounds, who jumped nine spots to place 4th. Nolan Gessler was also ranked 3rd (NWCA, 4th in Open Mat) at 165 pounds, while Anthony Aniciete was ranked 6th at 125 pounds.

Also in the Top 20 were Casey Barnett at 157 pounds (13th, 14th NWCA), Jakob Hurley at 174 pounds (15th NWCA, 16th Open Mat), and Lucas Salmon at 197 pounds (11th NWCA, 16th Open Mat).
