TIFFIN, Ohio- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference is set to host the league’s second STUNT conference championship on Thursday, March 28- Saturday, March 30. The championship will take place the Heminger Center located on the campus of Tiffin University and will feature all eight teams within the conference.
In addition to Ashland, Hiram, Tiffin, and Ursuline, who participated in last year’s championship, Malone, Mercyhurst, Trevecca Nazarene, and Walsh will also make their way to Tiffin.
Trevecca and Ashland are the league’s leaders in the black division, earning co-regular season champs. In the blue division, Hiram took home regular season honors.
The Trojans are led by Coach of the Year in Kelly Quigley, who led the Trojans to a 12-5 overall record during their first competition season. Quigley landed seven student-athletes on the all-conference list, including Player of the Year Mikalya McCoy and Freshman of the Year Kaitlyn Probus.
McCoy was voted the league’s top student-athlete after scoring 247 points through 217 rounds this season. She finished the regular season with a 18.73 power rating and earned athlete of the week honors on two occasions.
Trevecca swept the individual awards as Kaitlyn Probus earned Freshman of the Year honors. Probus played 212 rounds during her freshman campaign, scoring 239 points with a power ranking of 17.76.
In addition to McCoy and Probus, Sakia Landrum rounds out first-team selections from Trevecca.
Mya Bowles from Ashland is the Elite 26 Award winner, which recognizes the highest cumulative GPA from a student-athlete who is participating in the conference championship. Bowles, a junior majoring in marketing, maintained the highest GPA amongst her peers.
