Thomas More’s Jack Purdue tossed a complete game of seven innings in Thomas More’s win over Davis & Elkins. Purdue gave up just five hits and allowed no runs while striking out seven batters on the day.
Player
Cam Farrar / University of Findlay / Gr. / Outfield / Clyde, Ohio
Cam Farrar earned baseball athlete of the week for the second time this season after a dominant performance against Mercyhurst. The graduate student was connected on three of four plate appearances to record an average of 0.750. Farrar’s three hits included a double and two home runs for five RBIs. He currently ranks fourth in the league in batting average at .448 while holding the third-best on-base percentage of .590.
Men’s Golf
Luke Metzger / University of Findlay / So. / Mason, Ohio
Findlay’s Luke Metzger led the Oilers to a sixth place finish at the Bearcat Classic. Metzger finished tied for eighth in a field of nationally-ranked opponents. He fired rounds of 73,70, and 64 to finish with a score of 207 (-9). His score ranks as the fourth-best 54-hole score in Findlay program history.
Women’s Golf
Caroline Tragesser / Ohio Dominican University / So. / Murrysville, PA
Caroline Tragesser tallied a 36-hole score of 150 (+6) as the Sea Trail Intercollegiate to finish in fifth place. She recorded rounds of 74 and 76, including five birdies and 22 pars.
Men’s Lacrosse
Defensive:
Tyler Nutting / Tiffin University / Gr. /Goalkeeper/ Rochester, N.Y.
Tiffin’s Tyler Nutting led the Dragons to a 19-7 win over Montreat. Nutting recorded 46 minutes in goal and recorded seven saves, three ground balls, and registered a goals-against average of 5.00.
Offensive:
Aydan Gilbert / Tiffin University / Fr. / Attack/ Mechanicsburg, PA
The Dragons swept the men’s lacrosse awards this week as Aydan Gilbert earned offensive player of the week. Gilbert had a strong week, tallying 12 goals and an assist on the week. He added 11 ground balls and a caused turnover as Tiffin wen 1-1 over the week.
Women’s Lacrosse
Defensive:
Mallory Miller / Walsh University / Jr. /Defense/ Noblesville, Ind.
Mallory Miller led a Cavalier defense that posted a 26-0 shutout against Ursuline. The junior defender connected on one goal while picking up four ground balls. Miller also caused three turnovers and tallied 10 draw controls.
Offensive:
Madeline Shewbridge / University of Findlay/ Sr. / Attack/ Cincinnati, Ohio
Madeline Shewbridge led the Oilers to a 1-1 week with a win over Quincy. For the week, Shewbridge scored seven goals, dished out four assists, and picked up three ground balls.
Softball
Pitcher:
Ashland Sensing / Trevecca Nazarene University / Jr. / Pitcher / Dickson, Tenn.
Trevecca’s Ashlan Sensing had a dominant performance over spring break. She pitched a perfect game for the second year in a row. Sensing went 3-1 on the week with three complete games and a 1.80 ERA over 23.1 innings pitched. She struck out 24 batters and allowed just six earned runs.

Brittany Steimel / Northwood University / Jr. / First Base / Traverse City, Mich.
Brittany Steimel started in all six games for the Timberwolves during their spring break trip. Steimel led Northwood to a 3-3 overall record while going 8-16 from the plate. Her eight hits included five home runs and a double for 12 RBIs. Steimel slugged a 1.500, collecting an on-base percentage of .619
Men’s Tennis
Arthur Bord / University of Findlay / Fr. / Bordeaux, France
Arthur Bord led an Oiler sweep over Oberlin College. The freshman won at No. 1 double (6-4) and at No. 1 singles with wins of 6-3 and 6-0.
Women’s Tennis
Jemimiah Choi / Tiffin University / Fr. / Wrexham, U.K.
Jemimiah Choi went undefeated in singles play as Tiffin went 4-0 in Hilton Head, SC. Choi had singles wins over opponents from George Mason, Saginaw Valley, and Millersville. She recorded doubles wins over Lake Superior State, George Mason, and Saginaw Valley. Choi currently holds a singles record of 11-1 this season.
STUNT
Alyssa McLaughlin / Ashland University / Jr. / Kenton, Ohio
McLaughlin led the Eagles to a 2-2, recording wins over Missouri Baptist. She was the leading scorer with 47 points in the first matchup. She then went on to score 42 and 20 in the next two matches.
