Pitcher:
Nick Lallathin / Walsh University / Gr. / Pitcher / Wadsworth, Ohio
Walsh’s Nick Lallathin led the Cavaliers to a 7-3 win over West Virginia State. He pitched six innings while only giving up four hits and striking out eight batters. Lallthin currently has an ERA of 0.00.
Player
Cam Farrar / University of Findlay / Gr. / Outfield / Clyde, Ohio
Cam Farrar of Findlay went 5-for-7 (.714) in the Oilers season opener. Farrar had one home run, two doubles for four RBIs. He totaled 10 bases and scored two runs as Findlay split opening day with Saginaw Valley.
Men’s Basketball
Borja Fernandez / Kentucky Wesleyan College / Sr. / Forward / Bilbao, Spain
Borja Fernandez led the first-place Panthers to a 2-0 week with wins over Trevecca Nazarene and Thomas More. Fernandez poured in 20 points, shooting 9-12 from the field and grabbing 9 rebounds against TNU. He then went on to record a double-double in an overtime victory against Thomas More, scoring a career-high 37 points and hauling in 12 rebounds.
Women’s Basketball
Keeley Carter / Trevecca Nazarene University / Sr. / Guard / Lafayette, Tenn.
Keeley Carter had another outstanding week for the Trojans, averaging 27.5 points, 15.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 3.5 steals per game. Carter shot 59.4% on the week, shooting 19-32 from the field and 3-6 from behind the arc. She currently leads the conference in scoring with 20.9 points per game and is third in rebounding with 8.0 per game.
Men’s Lacrosse
Defensive:
Will Cody / Seton Hill University / So. /Goalkeeper/ Pottstown, PA
Seton Hill’s Will Cody led the Griffins to their second win of the season in a 16-3 victory over Roberts Wesleyan. Cody made a career-high 15 saves, while only giving up three goals on the day.
Offensive:
Vincent Cogliandro / Seton Hill University / Sr. / Faceoffs/ Manlius, N.Y.
Vincent Cogliandro recorded two goals and had one assist in a 16-3 win over Roberts Wesleyan. He also added one ground ball on the day.
Men’s Tennis
Philip Carstensen / Walsh University / So./ Vaerlose, Denmark
Philip Carstensen came up big for the Cavaliers, going 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with wins over Grand Valley State and Davenport. He then went on to win at No. 3 singles to lead Walsh to a 4-1 win over Davenport.
Women’s Tennis
Anaelle Lepinay / Tiffin University/ Jr./ Saint Barthelemy Anjou, France
Anaelle Lepinay went 3-1 on the week, including 2-0 in singles play. She won singles matches 6-3, 6-3 over Purdue Northwest and 6-1, 7-6 over Davenport.
Men’s Indoor Field
Ben Haas / Hillsdale College / So. / Throws / Clarkston, Mich.
Ben Haas had another dominant performance over the weekend, breaking the Hillsdale College program record in the weight throw with a mark of 21.78m. Haas’ mark ranks as No. 2 in the Great Midwest record books and is the second-best mark in Division II this season.
Men’s Indoor Track
Dillan Haviland / Northwood University / Sr. / Distance / St. Johns, Mich.
Dillan Haviland earned the men’s track & field athlete of the week for the second time this season. He reset his program and conference record in the mile, registering a time of 4:01.15. His time is No. 9 in D2 and No. 1 in the conference this season.
Women’s Indoor Field
Paige Emnett / University of Findlay / Gr. / Throws / Wheelersburg, Ohio
Paige Emnett won the weight throw at the Flag City open, throwing a personal best mark of 19.09m. Her throw is the 4
th best in Division II this season.
Women’s Indoor Track
Ines Macadam / Tiffin University / Sr. / Distance / Entre Rios, Argentina
Ines Macadam broke the Tiffin program record in the 800 with a provisional time of 2:08.91. Her time is the fastest in the conference this season and the third best in D2.
Softball
Pitcher:
Ashlan Sensing / Trevecca Nazarene University / Jr. / Pitcher / Dickson, Tenn.
Trevecca’s Ashland Sensing led the Trojans to a 3-1 week, pitching 14 innings and striking out 24 batters. She had two complete games with one complete game shutout. Sensing allowed just nine hits and one earned run on the week, finishing with an ERA of 0.50.
Player:
Gabby Schloop / Northwood University / Jr. / Shortstop / Midland, Mich.
Gabby Schloop led the Timberwolves to a 3-0 mark with wins over Ferris State, Illinois Springfield, and Davenport. She went 5-7 (.714) from the plate and had a slugging percentage of 1.143 while sporting a 1.00 fielding percentage. Schloop collected a double, a triple, and four RBIs.
STUNT
Kaitlyn Probus / Trevecca Nazarene University / Jr. / Hendersonville, Tenn.
Probus led Trevecca to a 1-1 week, including a win over Tiffin. Against Ashland, she recorded a 33 power rating while totaling 11 points. She then went on to collect a 63 rating and 21 points in a 22-0 win against the Dragons. For the week, Probus scored 32 points with a 96 rating.
Wrestling
Daulton Mayer / Thomas More University / Sr. / Verona, KY
Daulton Mayer had an outstanding performance against No. 19 Ashland. At 285 lbs., Mayer pinned his opponent in 56 seconds.
