HOBART,Ind.— The Dragons capped off their 2024 season against Truman State University on Saturday afternoon in a loss in the America’s Crossroads Bowl.
Through four-quarters, the Bulldogs were able to find a 29-10 win over the Dragons. This bowl game is played between two teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
In the first quarter of play, the Bulldogs came out red-hot as they piled on 10 points. Their first three were put on the board with 10:24 to go in the first. The touchdown then came five minutes later off the legs of running back Denim Cook from just a yard out.
After that, they went on to score six more points in the first half compared to Tiffin’s three. They entered halftime up 16-3.
In the second half, the Bulldogs were able to defend their lead as they mustered together two field goals and an interception return for a touchdown towards the late stages of the game. For the Dragons, they would find just one other score coming from running back Ronald Blackman on a seven-yard touchdown run.
When the clock hit zero, Truman State was declared winners with a 29-10 scoreline.
The Players of the Game were Bulldogs’ Denim Cook on offense and Shane Johnson on defense.
Tiffin University will exit the 2024 postseason with a record of 8-4 overall, 7-2 in conference play which was good for third in the G-MAC. In the GLVC, the Bulldogs finished second with a record of 8-4 overall, and 6-2 in conference action on the year.
