INDIANAPOLIS- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released an update of the Presidents’ Cup standings heading into the holiday break. The University of Findlay leads the race 5.5 points ahead of second-place Ashland University.
The Oilers had a successful fall season with football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, and volleyball all finishing in the top five of their respective standings. Both volleyball and men’s soccer captured their first ever G-MAC title in program history. Findlay totaled 58.0 points heading into the winter season.
Ashland moved to second placed with 52.5 points. The Eagles found themselves atop the regular season standings in both football and women’s soccer. Ashland sponsors all six Great Midwest sports offered in the fall.
Walsh follows behind Ashland with 45.0 points while Northwood sits in fourth with 43.5 points.
The Presidents’ Cup is awarded to the institution that collects the highest tally of points based on regular season winning percentage (standings) or individual meet results (sports with no conference regular season schedule) through the completed spring championship season.
