In the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division II Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday (Dec. 3) afternoon, Ashland University's women's basketball team made a jump of four spots into the No. 10 spot.
The Eagles (6-2) will begin Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Thursday (Dec. 5) at 6 p.m. at Northwood (1-5), then return to the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium on Saturday (Dec. 7) at 1 p.m. to take on Tiffin (4-2).
Ashland is 3-0 all-time as the No. 10-ranked team in D-II, and 333-22 (.938) all-time as a ranked team in D-II.
This is the 177
th time Ashland has been in the Top 25 of the coaches poll, and 155
th time in the Top 10. The Eagles have been in the coaches poll Top 25 on 57 consecutive occasions.
Ashland boasts the ninth-best team field-goal percentage (47.4) in the nation. Senior forward
Hayley Smith is tied for the sixth-most rebounds (83) in the country.
