Men’s Basketball
Jack McCune / Thomas More University/ Gr. / Guard / Paducah, Ky.
Thomas More’s Jack McCune was named the Great Midwest Athlete of the Week after leading the Saints to a 2-0 week. McCune averaged 25 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 assists on the week. In a win over regional opponent McKendree, McCune poured in a career-high 33 points while grabbing seven rebounds and adding an assist. For the week, he shot 66.7% from the field and 44.4% from behind the arc.
 
Women’s Basketball
Annalise Pietrzyk/ Hillsdale College / So. / Guard/ Lockport, Ill.
Annalise Pietrzyk led the Chargers to an upset over No.19 Ferris State. She scored a game-high 19 points on 7 of 15 shooting, including four from 3-point range. The sophomore guard finished with six rebounds and two assists. Hillsdale’s win over Ferris is the program’s first win over a ranked opponent in over a decade.
