Great Midwest Well Represented in Latest LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND- With six of its membership represented, The Great Midwest Athletic Conference had a strong showing in the Division II LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup Final Fall Standings that was released on Monday.
 
The final LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup fall standings for Divisions II and III and the NAIA have Grand Valley State (DII- 331.0 total points), Johns Hopkins (DIII- 495.00 total points), and Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA- 435.00 total points) sitting in first of their respective divisions.
 
In Division II, Wingate is in second place with  283.5 points, Colorado State- Pueblo is in third with 282.5 points, Cal Poly Pomona is in fourth place with 267.00 points, and Colorado School of Mines rounds out the top-five with 248.0 points.
 
Findlay is the top-ranked Great Midwest member institution with a standing of No. 19 in Division II. The Oilers had a fall to remember as two of their teams captured their first ever conference championship. Men’s soccer advanced to the sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament, while the volleyball team found themselves in the regional final.
 
The Oilers cracked the top 20, collecting 174.0 points, including 83.0 from volleyball, 64 from men’s soccer, and 38 from men’s cross country.
 
Ashland is top 50 at No. 45 as the Eagles accumulated 103.0 points from two sports, football and women’s soccer.
 
Tiffin, Cedarville, Walsh and Hillsdale round out the remaining teams from the G-MAC in the final fall standings.
