PAINESVILLE, Ohio – For the past calendar year, the Lake Erie baseball team has been a proud partner with Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved. Every week, about twice a week, the team has fully embraced and welcomed Johnny (11) as one of their own.

"Johnny has been a great asset to the team, said Landon Hutchison, head coach of Storm baseball. "It's awesome seeing the smile on his face when he is involved in our daily routines, practices, and games. He shows a lot of strength, and courage, and you can really tell that he loves being part of a team. We love having him and his family around and their support for the program. He has been a tremendous addition to the baseball program."

The national nonprofit organization, which started in 2011, has continued to touch the lives of many children, families, and teams throughout their proud 13-year history. Since their inception, they have matched over 2,200 children with over 700 college sports teams.

Through their program, Team IMPACT's mission is to 'create a world where every child facing serious illness and disability feels supported by something bigger and every team is transformed by a greater purpose.'
