HILLSDALE, Mich. -- For the first time in program history, the Findlay Oilers are Great Midwest Volleyball Tournament Champions.
It came via a sweep 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-14) of seventh-seeded Ohio Dominican in Saturday's championship match at Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena on the campus of Hillsdale College. Ohio Dominican falls to 15-16 on the season.

The Panthers came out strong scoring the first three points of the first set which would set the tone early. Findlay responded by scoring the next three points to knot things up. The two teams would compete in a back and forth first set before Findlay was able to pull away 25-21. That was all the push the Oilers needed to control the rest fo the match winning sets two and three in convincing fashion (25-18, 25-14) including a 13-1 run in the middle of the third set to seal the deal for the fourth-seeded Oilers.

As a team, Findlay hit .300 for the match in comparison to ODU's .109. The third set would be the Orange and Black's best with a .357 hitting percentage.

Findlay's Hannah Miller lead the way with 13 kills while teammate Emma White impressed with 28 assists.

Ohio Dominican's Lauren Dinunzi led all players with 14 digs.

On its way to the championship, Findlay took care of both Cedarville and top-seeded Hillsdale. The Oilers semifinal win over Hillsdale handed the Chargers their first-ever loss in the G-MAC Volleyball Tournament. This match marked Findlay's third appearance in the G-MAC title game and its win snaps a seven-year streak of championships by tournament host Hillsdale.

With the tournament title, Findlay will secure an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
