Men’s Basketball
Maceo Williams / Ashland University/ Jr. / Forward / Gahanna, Ohio
Williams went 18-for-19 from the field in Ashland’s two games this week, ending with 46 total points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. In the first three games this season, Williams is averaging 22.7 points and 9.7 rebounds, shooting 77.1 percent from the field.
Women’s Basketball
Erin Kaufman / Malone University/ Jr. / Forward / Glandorf, Ohio
Kaufman recorded a double-double in Malone’s win at Slippery Rock, totalling 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 22 points. She also led the team in scoring against LSSU, moving the Pioneers to 4-0.
Football
Defense: Darius Hylick / Tiffin University/ Gr. / Linebacker / Nashville,Tenn.
Defense:
The Dragons’ defense was crucial in helping Tiffin take down the Findlay Oilers this past weekend. Leading the charge was Darius Hylick, who led TU with nine tackles and an interception. In total, the Tiffin defense held the Oilers to just 238 total yards of offense. Up until Saturday, Findlay had lost just one game all season.
Offense: Ty’aris Stevenson / Ashland University / So. / Tailback / Cincinnati , Ohio
Offense:
For the second time this season, AU running back Ty’aris Stevenson has surpassed the four-touchdown mark in one game. On Saturday, to clinch the G-MAC crown, Stevenson found the endzone five times while also pounding the ball on the ground for 181 yards. His touchdowns came from two, three, eight, 11 and 29 yards out for his flurry of scores.
Special Teams: Leon Williams / Northwood University/ R-Jr. / Defensive Back / Clearwater, FL.
Leon Williams was one of the reasons the Northwood Timberwolves were able to take down Walsh in their season finale. After the Timberwolves were able to block a field goal attempt, Williams scooped up the ball and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown. That score helped to increase Northwood’s lead in the third quarter to a 21-point edge.
Men’s Swimming & Diving
Randy Keener / University of Findlay/ Jr. / Shinnston, W.V.
In a dual meet with Lewis, Keener won the 400 medley relay, 100 backstroke, and finished runner-up in the 200 IM. Despite Findlay's loss to Lewis, Keener and the Oilers are searching for their eighth consecutive G-MAC Championship.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Katie Susi / University of Findlay/ Jr. / Amherst, Ohio
In a tri-meet with Hillsdale and Lewis, Susi won the 400 medley relay, 100 yard breaststroke (NCAA B Cut 1:01.87), 200 Breaststroke, and 200 IM. These performances helped the Oilers win the meet.
Volleyball
North Division
Kenzie Hoelscher / University of Findlay/ Jr./ Middle Back/ Ft. Loramie, Ohio
Findlay was able to cap off a tough week of play in G-MAC action with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan and Thomas More. Hoelscher had 23 kills in total for an average of 3.38 per set all while recording a hitting percentage of .362. She also was incredible from behind the line, marking 14 aces in the two matches, one shy of a program record.
South Division
Grace Zinchuk / Ohio Dominican University / Jr. / Middle Back / Schaumburg, Illinois
Zinchuk led the Panthers with an impressive .404 hitting percentage to go alongside 27 total kills. On the week, Ohio Dominican went 2-1 with their wins coming over Lake Erie and Ursuline. She was able to add four service aces over the week and three blocks in each of the three games she played in.
East Division
Sydney Dixon / Walsh University / Gr. / Outside Hitter /Valparaiso, IN.
Dixon’s week was miraculous with 34 kills, 26 digs, 98% on serve receives, and four blocks. She finished with two double-doubles as well, all while becoming the first player in school history to have 1000 kills and 1000 digs in a career.
Wrestling
Lucas Salmon / Tiffin University/ Sr. / Sandusky, Ohio
Dragons wrestler Lucas Salmon finished in second at the Findlay Open. He was able to win four straight bouts to advance into the finals. En route to his finals appearance, he took down Ohio 6-2, Lake Erie 7-0, Grand Valley State 4-1 and Wisconsin-Oarkside 6-5. In the title match, he fell to McKendree via pin.
