Ashland Wins Second Great Midwest Football Title in Three Years

ASHLAND, Ohio- In the regular season finale, the Ashland University Eagles were crowned regular season Great Midwest football champions by defeating the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers Saturday, 44-30. 
 
This is Ashland’s second football title in three years, winning back in 2022. The Eagles finish the regular season with a conference record of 8-1. 
 
Kentucky Wesleyan took a 10-0 lead before Ashland’s Ty’aris Stevenson found the endzone in the second quarter to cut the Panther’s lead to three. Stevenson continued to lead the Eagle offense, totaling five touchdowns on the day with 181 yards. 
 
Ashland’s Brayden Smith led the Eagle defense with 10 total tackles, five of which were solo. 
 
Ashland, who is ranked No. 8 in Super Region One, will now await the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 6 P.M. ET.
