Waco, Texas – At 5-0 this season, the first five-game streak to start a season at UF since 2002, Findlay has made a statement thus far but understands that there is still plenty of football to be played. For that effort, the Oilers have moved up in American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) DII Coaches Poll. After their win against Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, the Oilers move up three spots to number 20.
The Oilers, ranked 20th, join #5 Kutztown, #6 Slippery Rock, #14 Charleston, #24 Frostburg State, and #25 Indiana (Pa.) as the lone teams ranked in Super Region I. Findlay is the only team in the conference ranked in the poll.
With the Panthers now in the rear view mirror, the Oilers return home to take on Ashland University on Saturday, Oct. 12. The two Ohio rivals will kick off at noon.
