Ursuline College Athletics in partnership with the Ursuline College Women's Center participated in the Cleveland National Alliance on Mental Illness Walk at Edgewater Park in Cleveland, OH.
The NAMI organization is
the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
NAMI Walks take place all over the nation, building a supportive community surrounding mental illness. The Arrows brought student-athletes to Edgewater to participate and cheer on walkers for this important cause.
Sophomore Softball athlete, Ashlee McClean commented "To be able to decompress from all the life stressors while participating NAMI walk was relieving! Getting to spend time with my teammates and other Arrows outside of school was a great experience."
Jaylynne Murphy, a Senior STUNT athlete, was impressed with the organization as a whole! She said "The opportunity to volunteer with NAMI was an amazing experience that I hope to be able to do again in the future. They are an inspiring organization that has so many resources available to connect with. They've done a lot of great work in the community and I hope to see them expand and reach more people."
Track & Field Sophomore, Malicca Brown stated "The NAMI walk inspired me greatly to see so many people show up and support such a great cause. Being an Arrow has taught me how important as a student-athlete to give back to the community."
