Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Student Athlete Advisory Committee granted a wish as part of the Make-A-Wish organization on Saturday at halftime of the Panthers’ football game.
The wish was granted to Elijah, a 12-year-old boy who has had four open heart surgeries after being born with a hypoplastic left heart. Elijah is a huge fan of Harry Potter and Star Wars, so he has always dreamed of going to Disney World. After raising $10,000, the KWC SAAC was able to grant that wish.
The SAAC also had tons of help from other organizations on campus, such as Student Life, who played a major role in sending Elijah and his family to Disney World.
The reveal is just one example of the positive impact our student-athletes make on and off the field each day, and we’re so fortunate as an institution to be in the position to make dreams like this come true.
