Ashland's Annie Roshak Tabbed Great Midwest Female Athlete of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS—After a decisive vote from the league’s Sports Information Directors, Ashland’s Annie Roshak was officially labeled as the winner of the 2022-23 Great Midwest Female Athlete of the Year.
 
The award is traditionally presented on an annual level to a nominee based on athletic accomplishments and contributions to their specific sport and the institution’s overall athletic program.
 
Roshak, a senior forward from North Canton, Ohio, had an impressive number of achievements surrounding her name this season. She led the Ashland Eagles to a historic 37-0 record and the program’s third national title.
 
During Ashland’s national championship run, Roshak collected several accolades including Elite Eight Most Outstanding Player as well as First Team All-American honors from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
 
"Annie has been a great represntation for our program and our University," said head coach Kari Pickens. "Her commitment to excellence in everything that she does is a great example and I couldn't be more proud of her!" 

Roshak earned a spot on the Midwest Region all-tournament team and was named the Great Midwest Women’s Basketball Player of the Year after leading the Eagles to their second consecutive conference championship title.
 
She ranked third at the Division II level in field goal percentage (63.0), averaging 14.6 ppg., 5.9 rpg., 2.1 pg, and 48.4 from three-point range.
