Zach Abbey of Northwood University tossed a complete-game shutout in a 2-0 victory over Lake Erie. Abbey struck out 10 batters in seven innings of work. The Milan, Mich. native is undefeated this season with a 4-0 record and holds an ERA of 1.38.

This week, Jeff Landis registered a batting average of .565, hitting 9 of 16 from the plate. Landis’ nine hits included two doubles, one triple, and three home runs for 10 RBIs. He scored seven runs and was a perfect four of four in a 13-3 victory over Ashland.

Kentucky Wesleyan’s Seth Wright was credited with the first win in a four-game sweep over Ohio Dominican. He struck out 10 batters, while allowing just four hits and one earned run.

The Panters swept the South Division honors this week as Kyle Werries was selected as the Player of the Week. In four games, Werries was 8-14 from the plate with nine RBIs. His eight hits included two doubles, while walking four times. He totaled nine RBIs and scored seven runs in the series.
