Findlay Women Jump Seven Spots in National Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, La.- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their Top 25 women’s outdoor track and field teams for the week of April 3. The University of Findlay Oilers jumped eight spots to No. 11, while Walsh University cracked the Top 25 for the first time this season.
 
The Oilers found tremendous success at Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati. In a tough field of Divison I athletes, Findlay found themselves among the top-finishers in several events. Paige Emnett finished third in the hammer throw (51.91m) and teammate Trista Fintel took home the gold in the shot put with a provisional mark of 14.65m. Sophomore Nicole Fishpaw earned a fourth place finish in the 200m dash with a. time of 25.78.
 
Several Cavaliers broke program records at the VertKlasse Meet, which also included athletes from Division I programs. The 4x100 relay team set a new school record with a time of 46.90 seconds. Claire Martin and Kya Epps also shattered program records in their respective events. Martin now holds the record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.17m. Epps broke two schools records in the 100m (11.51) and the 200m (23.72).
 
Both programs will meet one another at the Tiffin Track Carnival, scheduled for April 14-15.
