Findlay Claims Fifth Consecutive Women's Golf Championship

LEXINGTON, Ky.- The University of Findlay Women’s Golf team won their fifth consecutive Great Midwest title Saturday afternoon. The Oilers edged the Tiffin Dragons 4-1 in the final medal match after finishing as the top-seed through 54 holes (+14).
 
Four individuals defeated their opponents, led by Hayley Dye who shot -4, defeating her opponent by 12 strokes. Gabby Woods, who earned tournament medalist honors, shot a 72 on the day, 11 strokes ahead of her opponent.
 
Jill Schmitmeyer and Erin Mulcahy finished with scores of 72 and 78, respectively.
 
Tiffin’s Lisa Marie Schumacher earned the Dragon’s a point, finishing with a 73.
 
Findlay was the top-ranked team in the region coming into the championship, along with Tiffin at No.5,  Walsh at No. 8, and Ashland at No.17.
 
The NCAA Women’s Golf Selection Show is scheduled for May 1.
