NEW ORLEANS, La.- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their fourth edition of the 2023 Outdoor Track & Field Top 25 poll. The Great Midwest is represented in both the men’s and women’s rankings this week.
On the women’s side, Findlay is featured for the fourth consecutive week. The Oilers are slotted at No. 17 after a successful weekend at the Tiffin Track Carnival, where several individuals placed in the Top 5 finishers. Trista Fintel, Great Midwest Athlete of the Week, won the shot put, clearing a provisional mark of 15.38m. Meadow Cromer also hit a provisional mark by finishing first in the pole vault (3.84m). Sophomore Jessica Cromer finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.22m.
In the men’s rankings, Tiffin is polled at No. 22. A handful of Dragons hit provisional marks at their home meet, led by Javier Sanchez who won the triple jump (12.97). The 4x200 team also took home the gold with a time of 1:31:33.
Both programs will compete at the Jesse Owens Classic as well as the Mike Becraft Invite this weekend.
