DALLAS, Texas—The Ashland University Women’s Basketball team captured their third national title Saturday, March 31 against Minnesota Duluth. The Eagles defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 78-67 and finished the 2022-23 season with a perfect record of 37-0.

This is the third national championship the program has won, winning previously in 2013 and 2017. The national title puts head coach Kari Pickens as the first individual, at the Division II level, to win as a player, an assistant, and a head coach.

The top-ranked Eagles were led by Annie Roshak with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Roshak’s double-double performance earned her Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.

Zoe Miller added 16 points as she was six-of-eight from the field. Hallie Heidemann and Hayley Smith scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Smith finished the game with 10 boards and earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
