Ashland Captures First-Ever STUNT Championship

ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University captured the first-ever Great Midwest STUNT Championship on Saturday in front of a packed Kates Gymnasium in Ashland, Ohio.
 
The Eagles defeated Hiram College 22-3 to earn the title. Ashland controlled much of the game leading 4-0 after the first quarter and never trailing through four complete quarters of competition.
 
In Friday’s first semifinal, No. 2 Hiram won its game against No. 3 Tiffin, 19-3, to advance to the Great Midwest Championship. The Terriers took control of the game leading from start to finish.
 
In the second semifinal of the night, No.1 Ashland faced No. 4 Ursuline. The regular season champions won in all phases of competition defeating Ursuline 22-0 to advance to the tournament championship.
