INDIANAPOLIS -- Four Great Midwest teams have earned the right to extend their season into the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional tournament. For the second time in as many years, Ashland will play host to the regional tournament. The Eagles enter the tournament undefeated and the No. 1 team in the country as well as in the region.
Trevecca Nazarene enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed. The Trojans make history earning their ever tournament bid. Kentucky Wesleyan has earned the No. 6 seed while Malone rounds out the field making a last minute jump into the field as the No. 8 seed.
The reigning G-MAC regular season and tournament champions will welcome seven teams into Kates Gymnasium this weekend with a bid to the Elite 8 on the line. Friday (March 10) at noon will be No. 6 seed Kentucky Wesleyan (23-6) vs. No. 3 seed Grand Valley State (29-2), followed by No. 7 seed Lewis (21-10) vs. No. 2 seed Drury (30-1) on Friday at 2:30 p.m. Ashland will play its regional quarterfinal on Friday (March 10) at 5 p.m. against a familiar foe in No. 8 seed Malone (21-9). The last Friday quarterfinal will be at 7:30 p.m. between No. 5 seed Trevecca Nazarene (21-9) and No. 4 seed Michigan Tech (25-6).
Saturday's (March 11) semifinals will be at 5 and 7:30 p.m., and the regional championship game will be Monday (March 13) at 7 p.m.
Regional tournament tickets will be on sale starting Tuesday (March 7) at 10 a.m. General admission tickets will be available online and reserved tickets can be purchased through the main athletic office.
The 2023 NCAA Division II Elite Eight and Final Four will be March 20 and 22 in St. Joseph, Mo., and the 2023 NCAA Division II Championship Game will be April 1 in Dallas, Texas.
