STUNT All-Conference Teams Announced

ASHLAND, Ohio- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference is set to host the country’s first college STUNT conference championship on Friday, March 31- Saturday, April 1. The championship will take place at Kates Gymnasium located on the campus of Ashland University and will feature four teams within the conference.
 
Ashland, Hiram, Tiffin, and Ursuline will participate in this year’s championship, while Malone, Mercyhurst, Trevecca Nazarene, and Walsh are set to compete in the 2023-24 season.
 
STUNT is one of the fastest-growing all-female sport in the country. In January of 2023, the NCAA officially approved STUNT as an emerging sport for women, which establishes legislation and provides financial aid for the sport’s continued growth.
 
In the Great Midwest, Ashland leads the conference with an overall record of 9-3 and an undefeated conference record of 5-0. The Eagles are led by Co-Coach of the Year in Denise Farnsworth, who is in her third year with the program. Farnsworth produced six all-conferences selections in addition to the Player of the Year in Lily Boldman as well as the conference’s Freshman of the Year, Emily Keeling.
 
Boldman was voted by the league’s coaches as the inaugural STUNT player of the year after outstanding performances throughout the season. The tumbler/flyer has been the Eagle’s highest-rated player for 11 games and has played in 173 rounds this season with a power ranking of 25.619. Boldman has been chosen as the STUNT Athlete of the Week on four occasions this year.
 
Freshman Emily Keeling joins Boldman as an individual award winner for Freshman of the Year. In her first collegiate season, Keeling has played in 124 rounds, including positions in partner stunts, pyramids, and tosses, jumps and tumbling and team routine. The Freshman posted a power ranking of 17.857 and 154 points. 
 
Associate member Hiram College took home two individual awards as Coach Brittany Powell joins Farnsworth as the Co-Coach of the Year. Powell led the Terriers to a 5-3 season and a 2-2 conference record. Additionally, four student-athletes from Powell’s program are featured on the all-conference teams.
 
Julianna Le-Quay is the Elite 26 Award winner, which recognizes the highest cumulative GPA from a student-athlete who is participating in the conference championship. Le-Quay,a junior from Hiram College, maintained the highest GPA while majoring in neuroscience (pre-veterinarian track).
