Donathan Voted 2023 Great Midwest Wrestler of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS—Zackary Donathan of Tiffin and Nathan Barrett of Ashland were voted Wrestler of the Year and Freshman of the Year , respectively, by the conference’s coaches. Antonio Guerra of Tiffin was voted as the conference’s Coach of the Year.
 
Donathan, who was most recently crowned a national champion, was named Wrestler of the Year after a 14-1 season. He earned First-Team All-American honors at the national meet and became the third national champion in program history in just his first year of collegiate wrestling. 
 
Nathan Barrett had a standout debut season at Ashland , authoring a 20-8 record. Barrett registered a 2-3 record at his first nationals and placed eighth in 174 LB.
 
Guerra completed his first season at Tiffin, where he produced a national champion wrestler, Elite 26 Winner, and six All-Conference selections.
