INDIANAPOLIS—The third Midwest regional rankings revealed a strong showing of Great Midwest Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. Walsh University jumped to No.7 on the men’s side and Ashland held strong at No. 1 on the women’s side.
The top eight team in each region will advance to the National Tournament.
Hillsdale (No.2), Ashland (No.6), and Walsh (No. 7) represent teams from the conference in the men’s standings.
Walsh is coming off an impressive week as they claimed the regular season title and earned the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. All three programs advanced to the tournament semi-finals, which will take place on Friday, March 3.
On the Women’s side, it’s no surprise Ashland remained at the No. 1 spot with an undefeated record of 29-0. The Eagles are set to face Malone, the No. 9 team in the Midwest, in the semi-final round of the Great Midwest Tournament.
Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca are slotted at No. 5 and No. 6,respectively. The two will compete for a spot in the championship on Friday March 3.
