Ashland's Haraway Voted Great Midwest Player of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS— Ashland’s Brandon Haraway earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year to highlight this year’s men’s basketball all-conference award list. Haraway, averaged 16.7 points per game this season on 52.3% shooting. He averaged 16.4 points in conference play on 50.7% shooting, solidifying himself as one of the top players in the conference.
 
Haraway’s teammate Simon Wheeler was voted by the league’s coaches as the Great Midwest's top freshman. Wheeler averaged 10.1 points, while appearing and starting in all 26 games for the Eagles.
 
Tom Church, who coached Tiffin to their first post-season appearance since joining the conference in 2018, was voted Great Midwest Coach of the Year.
 
For his academic excellence, Walsh's Garrison Keeslar won the Elite 26 Award.
 
The quality of play in the Great Midwest this season resulted in a wide-ranging list of postseason award winners. Student-athletes from seven different schools were named First-Team All-Conference.  Ten different schools had at least one all-conference honoree.
 
Walsh will be the host for this weekend’s Great Midwest Basketball Championship as the No. 1 Cavaliers host their rival Malone University (No.5).
 
No. 2 Ashland has No. 3 Hillsdale for their third meeting of the season.
