INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest will send 16 wrestlers to the NCAA DII national championships. The championships will be held March 10-11 at Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Lake Erie had six wrestlers qualify for nationals, the most of any Great Midwest school, followed by Tiffin and Ashland who each had four. Findlay will be represented by two at the national level. Athletes can qualify for the national tournament by placing in the top four at the Super Regional meet.
In Super Region 3, Ashland’s Nate Barrett and Daniel Beemer took home first place at 174 and 184 pounds respectively. Tiffin’s Zackary Donathan was the champion at 141 pounds. The Dragons also had champions at 157 and 197 pounds in Casey Barnett and Jacob Noon.
The national bracket will be revealed on Friday, March 3 at Noon ET.
