Cedarville Freshman Anthony Ruffolo led the Yellow Jackets to victory over regional opponent Lewis. Ruffolo registered a career-high 26 points while shooting .600 from the field. 18 of his 26 points came from behind the arc, where he was 6-of-10. Ruffolo also added five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Women’s Basketball
Annie Roshak / Ashland University / Gr. / Forward / North Canton, Ohio
Annie Roshak of Ashland University had a record-breaking weekend for the No. 1 ranked Eagles. She recorded a team-high 23 points against and added seven rebounds against No. 10 Ferris State. Her 23 points propelled the graduate student pass the 2,000 point career mark, becoming only the fifth player in program history to do so.
Wrestling
Zackary Donathan / Tiffin University / Jr. / 141 lbs. / Mason, Ohio
Tiffin’s Zack Donathan took home the gold in the 141 lbs. weight class at the Midwest Classic over the weekend. Donathan opened up the weekend with two pins against Minnesota State-Moorhead (3:58) and Mount Olive (1:33). He then went on to go 3-0 with an 8-5 victory over Lander in the quarterfinal round. In the semifinals, Donathan was victorious over Parkside’s Cayden Henschel who ranks No. 5 in the nation. The Mason, Ohio native finished the day with a 4-3 win over No. 3 Dylan Lucas.
