Men’s Basketball
Reid Jolly / Thomas More University / Gr. / Guard / Alexandria, Ky.
Thomas More’s Reid Jolly led the Saints to an upset over No. 8 Ashland University over the weekend. He recorded 22 points, nine rebounds, and four assists to hand the Eagles their first loss of the year. Jolly went 10-18 from the field to register a field goal percentage of .560. Jolly added two steals while shooting .670 from three-point range.
Women’s Basketball
Keeley Carter / Trevecca Nazarene University / Sr. / Guard / Layfayette, Tenn.
Carter shattered the Trevecca single-game scoring record with 39 points in the Trojans 91-45 win at Lake Erie. She then went on to add 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double. On the week, she posted a stat line of 23.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals. Carter finished shooting .514 from the field and .857 from three. She currently leads the league in scoring, averaging 20.0 points per game.
Men’s Indoor Field
Dominic Nutter / Walsh University / Gr. / Throws / Johnstown, Ohio
Walsh’s Dominic Nutter earned a first-place finish in the weight throw at the Mount Union Toy Drive Invitational. Nutter threw a mark of 19.90 meters, which ranks fifth at the Division II level.
Men’s Indoor Track
Dillan Haviland / Northwood University / Sr. / Distance / St. Johns, Mich.
Haviland opened up the indoor season clearing a provisional mark at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open. He registered a 5K time of 14:20.05, the fastest time in the league this season. His time also ranks 23
rd nationally in D2.
Women’s Indoor Field
Claire Martin / Walsh University / Jr. / Jumps/ Zanesville, Ohio
Claire Martin hit a provisional mark in the triple jump for the second time this season. She recorded a mark of 11.78 meters, good for a second place finish at Mount Union. Her mark ranks 16
th nationally.
Women’s Indoor Track
Kya Epps / Walsh University / So. / Akron, Ohio
Walsh’s Kya Epps was runner-up in both the 60m and 200m dash over the weekend. In the 60m, Epps registered a time of 7.44 and a 200m time of 24.46. Her times rank as 6
th and 11
th in the country.
Wrestling
Daniel Beemer / Ashland University / Gr. / 184 lbs. / Ottawa, Ohio
Beemer led the Eagles to a 1-1 weekend against nationally-ranked opponents in Mercyhurst and Pitt-Johnstown. He went 2-0 individually and earned a 21-6 technical fall in his first action against the Lakers. Beemer then went on to earn a 16-5 major decision versus the Mountain Cats.
