INDIANAPOLIS-- Seven-time Great Midwest Athletic Conference champion Hillsdale found out it would be the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional following Monday night’s Selection Show revealing the field of 64 teams.
The Chargers draw No. 2 Ferris State from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Presumably, Hillsdale would be traveling to St. Louis, Mo. where No.1 UMSL is the highest seed in the bracket.
A win in the first round of the regional would move the program to face either No. 3 Lewis or No. 8 Rockhurst.
The national committee finalized the tournament field after conference championship brackets determined automatic qualifiers from around the country throughout the weekend.
The Chargers are coming off the conference championship tournament victory that has been a familiar sighting at Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena. Hillsdale earned a share of the North Division title, and was the No. 1 seed and host site for the conference tournament semis and championship matches.
Hillsdale has been ranked in each series of the Midwest Region rankings published this season.
Regional matches will take place Nov. 30 – Dec. 3. The National Championship is scheduled for Dec. 9.
