Men’s Basketball
Brandon Haraway / Ashland University / Gr. / Guard / Norwalk, Ohio
Last year’s Great Midwest Player of the Year led the Eagles to a 2-0 week with wins over Purdue Northwest and Southwest Baptist. Haraway posted a stat line of 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. Overall, he shot 69.2% from the field and was 14-15 from the free-throw line. Against Southwest Baptist, he led all scorers with a season-high 26 points on 8-10 from the field and 10-11 from the free-throw line.
Women’s Basketball
Sydney Mills / Hillsdale College / Sr. / Forward / DeWitt, Mich.
Sydney Mills had a record week for the Chargers, averaging 22.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games. In Hillsdale’s first win of the season over Quincy, Mills poured in 31 points and grabbed 15 boards. She became just the third player in program history to surpass 1,000 career rebounds.
Women’s Swimming & Diving
Elise Mason / Hillsdale College / So. / Zeeland, Mich.
Mason registered three NCAA Division II B-cuts at the Don Kimble Davenport Invite. She placed second in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 17:06.68. In the 1,000 meter race Mason recorded a time of 10:20.26. She rounded out the weekend with a fourth-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:02.99)
Wrestling
Drew Wiechers / Ashland University / Gr. / 157 lbs. / Dayton, Ohio
Wiechers went 6-0 at the Findlay Open, posting two pins, a technical fall, a major decision, and two major decisions. Wiechers’ pin came in the first-place match in 1:29 over a Division I opponent from Central Michigan.
