INDIANAPOLIS- The NCAA released the official bracket for the 2023 Women’s Soccer Division II Championship. The Great Midwest is sending three programs to the Midwest Regional following the reveal on Monday night’s selection show.
Great Midwest tournament runner-up Ashland earned the top seed and will serve as a host site for the Midwest. The Eagles are 17-0-4 this season and have the lowest goals-against average in the country at .188 per game. The Eagles are set to face the No. 8 seed out of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) in Michigan Tech (8-4-7).
Northwood, who was recently crowned Great Midwest Tournament Champions, earned the No. 4 seed. The timberwolves are coming off of their first program tournament title, where they beat undefeated Ashland in PKs. Northwood will play No. 5 seed Cedarville, who earned their third consecutive at-large bid. Northwood defeated the Yellow Jackets earlier this season by a score of 3-2.
Regional matches are set to begin on Thursday, Nov. 16, with the championship match scheduled for Dec. 9 at the Matthews Sportsplex in Matthews, N.C.
