th, 2022 are based on student-athlete performance from August 25, 2022-August 28, 2022.
Men’s Soccer
Offense: Christian Piccolotto- Malone University/ Fr. / Midfield / Ontario, Canada
In his college debut, Freshman Christian Piccolotto helped the Malone Pioneers record their best start since 2011 at 2-0. Piccolotto recorded three goals and three assists on the week for a total of nine points. He now leads the conference in assists and is tied for first in the conference in goals-scored with teammate Tha Lwe
Defense: Adan Gonzalez- Trevecca Nazarene University/ So. / Goalkeeper / Nashville, TN
Gonzalez led the Trojans to a victory in their season opener over the University of Alabama Huntsville. In his first start of the season, Gonzalez recorded a shutout with nine saves on nine Charger shots on goal. The win puts Trevecca at 1-0 on the year.
Women’s Soccer
Offense: Bree Owen- Kentucky Wesleyan College/ Jr. / Forward / Owensboro, KY
The junior forward recorded three goals in just 28 minutes in a 13-0 win over Berea College. Owen totaled six points on the weekend, including two assists. She currently leads the Great Midwest in assists and ranks second in points.
Defense: Brooke Ackley- Cedarville University/ Jr. / Goalkeeper / Worthington, OH
Ackley had 16 saves over the weekend, including 10 in a win over Carson-Neman University. She recorded her 11
th career-shutout to help the Yellowjackets go 1-0-1 to start the year.
Volleyball
North Division
Offense: Karoline Shelton- Hillsdale College/ Sr. / Outside Hitter / Shawnee, KS
Former Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference selection, Karoline Shelton helped the Chargers go 3-1 in their opening weekend. Shelton led the team offensively with 56 kills at 3.29 per set. The senior also poured in 2.71 digs per set and four aces. Shelton now ranks 8
th in school history in career kills and digs.
Defense: Alli Wiese- Hillsdale College/ So. / Libero / Mattawan, MI
Wiese was selected to the All-Tournament team as she averaged 4.71 digs for a total of 80 through four matches. The sophomore surpassed 1,000 career digs, becoming just the 12
th player in program history to do so with three years of eligibility remaining.
South Division
Offense: Ellie Buffler- Trevecca Nazarene University/ Sr. / Outside Hitter/ Nashville, TN
The senior helped the Trojans go 4-0 to open up the 2022 season. Buffler surpassed the 1,000 career-kill mark as she had 51 kills at 3.64 per set. She added nine service aces, 41 digs, nine assists, and five blocks over the weekend.
Defense: Cam Davenport- Cedarville University/ Fr. / Outside Hitter / Roanoke, VA
Davenport proved to be a defensive force for the Yellowjackets as she poured in 46 kills, 22 digs, five blocks, and three aces in her college debut. The freshman helped Cedarville go 3-2 on the weekend.
