Four Teams Earn WGCA Academic Team Award

National women's golf champion Findlay, league runner-up Tiffin, Ohio Dominican and Walsh were among the teams listed for academic excellence by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The four teams were in the team GPA top 25, with Walsh leading the way by ranking fifth in the nation.

Walsh posted a team GPA of 3.870 for 2021-22, behind only four other teams. Tiffin tied for seventh nationally with a 3.829 mark. Findlay tied for 13th with a 3.740. ODU was 11th in the nation with a 3.76 GPA for the year.

The academic awards capped a historic 2021-22 season for Great Midwest women's golf. A thrilling league championship finish between Findlay and Tiffin resulted in a playoff tie. Findlay would win the regional where Tiffin placed third and advanced to the NCAA Championship. Findlay won the match play title with wins over Dallas Baptist, Barry and Limestone to cap a spring with eight tournament victories.
