Ashland's Bassitt Named USTFCCCA Outdoor Athlete Of The Year

The best in the nation and one of the best at what he does on the track, Ashland standout Trevor Bassitt added another to his long list of accolades. The Bluffton, Ohio, native and 10-time national champion was named 2022 USTFCCCA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year.

Bassitt, the winner of the 2022 Great Midwest Colliegiate Achievement Award, won the national title in the 400m hurdles at the national championships meet with a 48.98 mark, the fourth-best effort in Division II history. He also anchored Ashland to a fourth-place finish in the 4×400 relay. Bassitt went undefeated in the 400m hurdles this season with victories in the the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays over a field of professional athletes as well as the Northeast Ohio Quad.

This award adds to Bassitt's 2021-22 season credentials, which also include:
