After winning the school's first women's golf national championship, Findlay highlighted the 2022 Great Midwest women's golf postseason awards. Kristina Kniesly was voted Great Midwest Women's Golf Player of the Year, Dominic Guarnieri the Great Midwest Coach of the Year and UF's Mary Kelly Mulcahy was voted the conference's freshman of the year.
Findlay made a run through the NCAA Women's Golf Championships to put an exclamation point on a historic season that saw the team win eight tournaments. The women's golf championship was held in Lexington, Kentucky April 18-19 but the final postseason awards are voted on after the season is complete.
Kniesly was the medalist at the Great Midwest Championship and shot for 10 tournament finishes in the top 10 on the year. She averaged 74.85 in 33 rounds of stroke play and won three tournaments during the spring.
Guarnieri has now won the conference's coach of the year award four times out of five spring seasons as a Great Midwest member. He owns six conference coach of the year trophies in all and was the 2019 NCAA East Region Coach of the Year.
Mark Kelly Mulcahy was named the conference's top freshman after a season that saw her place in the top half of all 13 of her outings, including eight finishes in the top 10. She averaged 75.3 in stroke play and placed third at the women's golf championship in April.
The Great Midwest Women's Golf Championship featured a thrilling finish, as Findlay and Tiffin played to a tie in match play. Findlay had the tie-breaker to be named champion. Two other Oilers - Jill Schmitmeyer and Gabby Woods - joined Mulcahy and Kniesly as all-conference picks. Tiffin, which placed four players on the all-conference list, placed third in the NCAA East Regional and advanced to the national championships stroke play round.
The Elite 25 Award winner was Ursuline College's Lucille Petkac, who owns a 3.965 GPA at UC while competing in both golf and bowling.
