WALSH, Ohio - The top seed and host Walsh Cavaliers completed the season sweep, capturing the Great Midwest Men's Basketball Championship with a 76-62 win over No. 6 seed Cedarville on Saturday. Garrison Keeslar led Walsh with game highs of 18 points and five assists.

Walsh (23-6), ranked first in the most recent Midwest rankings, will play in the NCAA Tournament and awaits its postseason assignment with the possibility of being a host there as well.

Walsh has now won three of the last four Great Midwest tournament crowns, also winning in 2019 and 2020.

Cedarville struck first, building an early 10-4 lead but Walsh chipped away until tying the game at 17 midway through the first half. WU finished the first half on a 14-5 run to lead 37-30 at halftime. Walsh's lead reached double figures before the first media timeout of the second half and the Cavs cruised from there.

Tim Smith, Jr. scored 16 points and Luke Howes 12 for Walsh. Branden Maughmer and Kollin Van Horn each scored 12 points to lead Cedarville, which awaits its postseason chances with a 19-12 overall record.
