Tim Stollings of Findlay and Elise Mason of Hillsdale were voted Great Midwest swimmers of the year by the conference coaches. Stollings has won the award three years in a row and Mason, a freshman sensation from HC, was voted the conference's best in her debut season. The top diving athletes in the vote were Isaac Osterfeld of Ashland and Findlay's Addi Fleischman.

Stollings capped his season with a runner-up 100 fly performance at the national championships, an event where he was the 2021 national champ. He was also 6th nationally in the 50 free and 8th in the country in the 100 back. Stollings took first at the Great Midwest/Mountain East meet in the 50 free, 100 fly, 200 fly and 100 back. In all, he is a 12-time conference champion. Osterfeld is the diver of the year after winning the 1-meter dive at the league meet and placing second off the 3-meter board.

Mason is a three-time conference champion, winning the 500 free, 1000 free and the mile. She placed in the top 40 at the national meet in all three of those events. Fleischman swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives at the conference meet. 

Championship coaches Kurt Kirner (Hillsdale women) and Andrew Makepeace (Findlay men) were selected as the conference coaches of the year.

All-conference accolades were determined from the results of the swimming championship, where the Mountain East Conference swimmers were filtered out and the best Great Midwest performances are charted first, second and third for each all-conference team.
