Sixteen standout student-athletes from eight different member institutions are this week's Great Midwest Athletic Conference athletes of the week for the period March 14-20. 

Below is a recap of each award winner and a complete list of this week's honorees.


Baseball Player of the Week
Roland Ryan - Trevecca Nazarene / Soph. / Mason, Michigan
Ryan went 10-for-28 and mashed five home runs to lead TNU to a 5-2 week. He scored 10 runs, drove in nine runs and walked twice. For the week, he got on base at a .435 clip and slugged .917.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Tyler Wehrle - Tiffin / Jr. / Bradner, Ohio
Wehrle combined with teammates Scotty Adelman and Logan Swonger for a no-hitter against Lake Erie. Wehrle pitched seven of the nine innings, striking out 10 while allowing just one unearned run. It was the first no-hitter in Tiffin's history as a Division II school.

Softball Player of the Week
Kaylee Adams - Trevecca Nazarene / Soph. / Shelbyville, Tenn.
Adams batted .750 with two home runs to lead TNU to an unbeaten week. Her first home run of the week was the first of her career, then her second one proved to be a walkoff for the Trojans. She drove in four, stole a base and walked once in addition to the longball heroics.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Joni Russell - Hillsdale / Fr. / Cable, Ohio
Russell went 2-1 with a save in her four appearances last week. She struck out 14 and had an ERA of 0.89 against just one walk and one earned run allowed.

Men's Golf Player of the Week
Robert Holden - Ohio Dominican / Sr. / Hertfordshire, England
Holden won a 72-player tournament last week at Hillsdale, his fourth individual title across six events. He shot 2-under (72-70-72=214) and won with a pair of clutch birdies in a playoff. He hit 10 birdies and parred 33 holes overall for the tournament.

Women's Golf Player of the Week
Gabby Woods - Findlay / Soph. / Sabina, Ohio
Woods was the individual medalist in a 78-player field, shooting 72-74-146 to lead Findlay to the team title at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Tennessee. She also tied for fifth overall at the even hosted by Saginaw Valley State.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Alfredo Berlanga - Findlay / Jr. / Toluca, Mexico
Berlanga led UF to a perfect week, a 7-0 win over Salem and a 4-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan. He went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles and also at No. 2 singles.

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Samantha Sweet - Findlay / Sr. / Mercer Island, Wash.
Sweet's clutch singles win helped UF win a historic match in conference history. #29 Findlay was taking on #31 Tiffin in what is called the first time to G-MAC schools met while both ranked in the top 50. Sweet was the deciding point, trailing 5-1 in the third set. She came back to win 7-5 and help the Oilers to the win. She was also part of the winning No. 1 doubles combo.

Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Ethan Landymore - Mercyhurst / Soph. / Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Landymore exploded offensively in a 20-8 win over Wheeling. He scored seven goals and added an assist in the win. He also added a ground ball and a caused turnover for good measure. MU has won three of its last four games. 

Men's Lacrosse Defender of the Week
Patrick Cuddihy - Walsh / Sr. / Eden, N.Y.
Cuddihy started and split time in goal during a big win over Alderson Broaddus over the weekend. He posted six saves before resting in a 15-4 victory for Walsh.

Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Hannah McFeeters - Walsh / Sr. / Pickerington, Ohio
McFeeters was the top goal scorer in the conference last week, totaling six goals in a 16-9 win over Notre Dame (Ohio). She also had an assist.

Women's Lacrosse Defender of the Week
Kathleen Mendenhall - Walsh / Soph. / North Canton, Ohio
Mendenhall was the winning goalkeeper for Walsh in a 16-9 victory over Notre Dame (Ohio). She made 11 saves with three ground balls and three charged turnovers in the victory. 

Men's Outdoor Track Running Athlete of the Week
Pablo Martin - Trevecca Nazarene / Jr. / Madrid, Spain
Martin broke TNU's school record in the 200m with a mark of 22.14 over the weekend. He broke the previous school record by more than a half a second. 

Men's Outdoor Track Field of the Week
Jacob McPherson - Tiffin / Sr. / Rochester, N.Y.
McPherson hit two NCAA Provisional Marks with his throws at the Shamrock Invitational. He placed second with a mark of 16.75m in the shot put and also hit with a 57.75m showing in the hammer throw. His hammer was good for third place overall in the event. He also threw the discus for a mark of 45.72m.

Women's Outdoor Track Running Athlete of the Week
Rajiah Andrews - Tiffin / Sr. / Chicago, Ill.
Andrews clocked a 11.72 in the 100m at the Shamrock Invitational, good for third overall. 

Women's Outdoor Track Running Field of the Week
Karla Hormazabal - Ursuline / Fr. / Orlando, Fla.
Hormazabal won two events at the Frail Invitational at Marietta over the weekend. She won the triple jump with a mark of 11.18, then took first place in the long jump with a 5.01 performance.
