Hillsdale College's Patrick Cartier earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive year to highlight this year's men's basketball all-conference award list. Cartier, a consensus All-American and the 2021 Great Midwest Male Athlete of the Year, averaged 22 points per game this season on 65 percent shooting. He averaged 21 points in conference play on 66 percent shooting, solidifying himself as one of the top players in Hillsdale history.

Cartier's teammate Joe Reuter was voted by the league's coaches as the Great Midwest's top freshman. Reuter averaged 8.9 points on 55 percent shooting during conference play coming off the bench for the second-place team in the regular season standings. Jeff Young, who coached Walsh to the regular season title and No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, was voted Great Midwest Coach of the Year. For his academic excellence, Cedarville junior Jacob Drees earned the Elite 25 Award.

The quality of play in the Great Midwest this season resulted in a wide-ranging list of postseason award winners. Thirteen players who have a senior or older eligibility were named all-conference. Nine difference schools had at least one all-conference honoree and all five all-devensive team players were also all-conference.

Walsh will be the host for this weekend's Great Midwest Basketball Championship. WU will host No. 5 seed Findlay. No. 2 Hillsdale has No. 6 Cedarville, as both road teams scored upsets in this week's quarterfinals.
