NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Hillsdale Chargers are Elite Eight bound. Patrick Cartier scored 23 points and HC is carrying the Great Midwest flag to Evansville, Indiana, for a shot at the national title. It's the first time a Great Midwest team has made it to the national quarterfinal and Hillsdale's first in school history.

Hillsdale (22-7) show 54 percent and 9-for-19 from 3-point range to win 73-63 over UM-St. Louis. HC trailed early before a big 24-8 run late in the first half gave the Chargers the halftime lead. They'd never trail again, shooting 58 percent in the second half and cruising the rest of the night.

Cartier got his game scoring high on 9-for-12 shooting. He averaged 24.3 points on 72 percent shooting during the three regional wins. Kyle Goessler added 16 points and Jack Gohlke 15. UMSL got 18 from Yaakema Rose.

Of the current membership, only Findlay has been to the round of eight in the last 15 years. Kentucky Wesleyan famously advanced to the quarters 19 times, all before 2003.
